I designed and built this Physical Animation Display, to bring frame-by-frame animation to life in a physical space.
For this project, I used an ESP32 Microcontroller, Programmable LEDs and 16 acrylic panels that were laser etched.
The goal was to turn this hand drawn frame-by-frame animation into a physical animation:
So, every panel was laser etched with 1 unique frame of the animation.

For the body of the product, we used laser-cut MDF. The circuitry was placed inside this body.
Here’s the schematic from which I took inspiration. I used an ESP32 instead of Arduino Uno.
